Features and Benefits:

- 6" diameter machined steel bridge wheels

- Heavy structural plates are securely ribbed and braced into a rigid one piece unit.

- Rubber bumpers and rail sweeps are included.

- Bridge travel is accomplished by pulling an endless coil link chain over a pocketed sheave. A swinging type chain guard prevents pulling the chain from the sheave without restricting passage of the chain through the guard. The chain guard is mounted on carbon steel cross shaft supported by ball bearing pillow blocks.

Demanding applications requiring the undivided attention of an experienced engineering and design group is our strength. Below are examples of different overhead traveling bridge crane configurations. To determine which type is right for your application, contact one of our experienced staff members.

Top Running Double Girder Crane

Shown here is a CMAA Class "D" 40 ton capacity, 71'-4" span box girder bridge. The two outside hoists have a 20 ton capacity and the hoist in the center has a capacity of 40 ton. Trolleys are synchronized using Variable Frequency Drives. Hoists are synchronized using Closed Loop Flux Vector drives. Primary means of control is Radio, with backup traveling push button station.

Single Girder Cranes

Shorter spans may allow for the use of a single girder bridge crane. A monorail type hoist is used in conjunction with this bridge configuration. Single girder bridge cranes (as well as under running bridges) are usually limited to CMAA Class "C" service.

Ergonomic Partners, with our parent company Tri-State Overhead Crane, manufactures overhead bridge cranes from 250 pounds to 100 tons and up to 150 foot spans. Our many years of experience in helping customers choose the right equipment is proven by the hundreds of cranes we have built and sold.

Single Girder Top Running Bridge Cranes

We manufacture single girder top running bridge cranes up to 20 ton capacity and standard bridge spans up to 120 feet.

TC/American Monorail Patented Track Cranes

TC American Patented Track Cranes, monorails and runways are made of special steel containing a high carbon and manganese content. This makes the running surfaces extremely hard and tough due to the chemistry of the steel.

Overhead Crane Systems

Ergonomic Partners can help with your overhead bridge crane early in the project by developing a specification for the right type of equipment and working with the building architects to ensure it will fit in your building and provide the proper operation. Too many times, a bridge crane is an afterthought, and vital items such as hook height and floor coverage are sacrificed due to poor planning. We can provide top running bridge cranes as follows: Single Girder Top Running Bridge Cranes up to 20 ton capacity with a 120 foot span and Double Girder Top Running Bridge Cranes up to 100 ton capacity 150 foot span.

Typically, top running overhead systems are used in more demanding applications, especially double girder top running bridge cranes. We can provide overhead bridge cranes to go into clean rooms, explosive environments, molten metal handling, and other demanding environments. If a typical bridge crane will not fit your application, we can provide cranes such as single and double leg gantry cranes. Whether you need a manual, electric or air powered bridge crane, we can provide a solution.

In addition to the bridge crane, we can provide the runway structure to work in conjunction with a new building or an existing building. Some options for runways may include:

  • Completely Freestanding (very good for existing structures or light metal buildings) - top or under running design overhead cranes.
  • Freestanding but tied back to the building structure (in buildings with some substance - new or existing buildings) - top or under running design bridge crane.
  • Suspended from your building (typically new buildings) - under running design overhead bridge crane.
  • Set on haunches (typically new building construction) - top running system.

All runways are designed by a professional engineer and designed per CMAA, ANSI, and AISC specifications. These runways can be stamped by a professional engineer. If you are looking at an under running bridge crane, we recommend a patented track system from TC/American.

15-Ton Overhead Bridge Crane

Our crane branch, Tri-State Overhead Crane, manufactured this 15-Ton double girder top running overhead bridge crane for lifting 10-ton steel coils. This overhead crane features a 500 foot runway, 75 foot bridge span, wireless radio controls, R&M Spacemaster Hoist, and a 10-Ton I.D. C Hook Coil Lifter.

Ergonomic Partners manufactures and services overhead cranes; serving clients from coast to coast, Canada, Mexico, and especially focused in the states of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, and Oklahoma.

What is a top running single girder bridge crane?

A type of overhead crane, or bridge crane, which consists of a single girder runway equipped with a traveling bridge between supported points within a structure. A hoist, the lifting component of a crane, travels along the bridge.

What is the difference between top running and under running cranes?

To sum up, under-hung cranes offer flexibility, functionality, and ergonomic solutions, while top running crane systems offer the advantage of higher capacity lifts and allow for higher lift heights and more overhead room.

What is a top running overhead crane?

A top running overhead crane has a fixed rail or track system installed on the top of each runway beam—allowing the end trucks to carry the bridge and hoist along the top of the runway system. Top running cranes can be configured in a single girder or double girder bridge design.

What is single girder under running crane?

An under running crane is typically an underhung, single girder crane where the wheels ride or operate on the bottom flange of a runway beam or track. The hoist/trolley wheels will ride on the lower flange of the bridge beam or track.
