Meh. . Crossbars on grills ..why.....hope the wilderness trim looks better . Guess I'm holding on to my 21 sport a while more

level 2

Exactly. I have a 21 Sport and have been looking forward to the Crosstrek Wilderness. I'd upgrade if it looks good but if the front looks like this photo I'm sticking with my 21.

level 1

It looks like it's about to say "I mustache you a question". Needs a monocle and top hat to complete the look.

level 2

Subaru had a winning design/look in the Crosstrek. Sorry they messed with it.

level 1

Dat front end ain't pretty.

it got a giant media player and no physical climate buttons

the rest looks the same

level 2

Makes me glad I didn’t wait for a 24’. Any specs on the drivetrain?

level 2

Agreed. Looks like a Toyota designer sneaked their way into the Subaru design shop and doubled-down on a poor design choice.

level 1

I’m still happy that my ‘23 Limited is on the way next month. I kinda prefer the look of the ‘23 compared to the ‘24.

level 1

Unless it has a turbo I’m still not interested in changing my 2.5L

level 2

I would have been happy to get 2.5L stick.

level 2

Bruh that’s all I want out of a crosstrek. Just put a turbo in one already subaru!

level 1

The lane assist on the current model is pretty mediocre to bad in some situations. If Subaru can manage to make it as good as the lane-keep in Hyundai’s, it might make this a little more compelling.

I have a 2018, got it full options 2.0i ~40k miles at 23k euros(kinda same amount in dollars). New one in europe would be ~32-36k with wait times. Very happy, added ppf because i plan on keeping it for many many years. Did some light offroad, slept 1 night in it (was awsome). I feel like it's the perfect car for that price. 23k, leather, eyesight, awd, great mpg(~7l/100km, around 33mpg), it's lifted to travel bad maintained roads. The only but the only downside (and it's personal preference) is the sound isolation(it's not that bad really i'm being picky, been in more expencive cars with worse sound) but with big windows (which i love!) you cannot improve much.

O yeah i furgot to say, 2018 top of the line has andoid auto and apple carplay which work so well, i have an older phone and keep it plugged in all the time. Also all phisical buttons intuitive positions.

The Australian XV currently has 220mm (8.7") of ground clearance, same as the Forester. Our Outbacks have 213mm (8.3") of ground clearance (including Gen6). 7.9" is 200mm, so that suggests our XV/Crosstrek will be lower next year too. I can only imagine they are doing this for better fuel efficiency.

Edit: haha, that article mentioned all of that. Should have read it first.

For bonus comparison, Impreza is 130mm (5.1").

Someone posted a teaser video of the new crosstrek model and speculation of it having a turbo in it. Curious how much you would pay for a 2 L turbo crosstrek? At what point will it just make more sense to get an Outback with turbo

They won’t put a 2.0 liter turbo it’ll be a low displacement like a 1.6 maybe and I mean maybe the 1.8. But I honestly see either the same engines or the 2.5 becomes standard across the line.

level 2

Why wouldn’t they put their 2.4L turbo in the cross trek?

level 1

I've owned three cars with turbos, and I'd rather avoid them if practical. Not to say I will never buy another car with a turbo, just that I prefer NA in most cases...

level 1

If they ever decided to put the same engine as the wrx I'd definitely be interested haha 😄

level 1

Here are my guesses: The 2.0L NA will be discontinued. The 2.5L NA will stay. There is also a good chance Subaru will bring in the 1.8L turbo (already used in Japan). Less chance we'll get the FA2.4L NA (used in the Brz), next to no chance we'll get the FA24L Turbo.

I’ve own a 2023 Sports for a month now and it’s just right. I’d love a turbo but it doesn’t seem the right fit for what the crosstrek is suppose to be and what the main market consumer is. Having more hp and better acceleration would feel more sporty and I can see it in the “sports/limited” versions, but not in the base. The base is suppose to be a regular gas saver with a great AWD system and safety. I’d be very jealous and upset if they put a turbo on the new sports trim lol I think it’s more realistic if they come out with a “Wilderness” trim and put a little turbo in that one with some different aesthetic designs.

We should find out on the 15th , I believe that’s when it’s gonna be more than a tease. And earlier I saw a post about a 2015 with a fa20 orange one. Swap looked great

level 1

The speculation based on the teaser video is just that — someone is projecting what they want to see. A true sport model with turbo would be great, but personally I think a turbo is unlikely and I have not heard any rumors about a turbo being added (besides this sub). We will find out tomorrow what is being announced.

Will 2023 Crosstrek be redesigned?

Also standard on Sport are 17-inch alloy wheels finished in Dark Gray. ... 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Changes..

Is Subaru discontinuing the Crosstrek?

Fortunately, Subaru is not discontinuing the Crosstrek. Instead, the 2022 model hit dealerships earlier this year.

Is Crosstrek underpowered?

"Even if rip-roaring performance isn't that important to you, the standard 2.0-liter engine in the Crosstrek is underpowered. Getting up to highway speeds requires patience; even around town, it just feels too pokey.

Does Subaru crosstrek have good resale value?
