Will there be a 2023 CX

What's New

After receiving a large update last year, the 2023 Mazda CX-5 is a carryover model. The CX-5 is joined by the CX-50 – a rugged compact SUV with a lot of the same components and the same platform as the CX-5. The CX-5 continues to be one of the sportier and most luxurious compact SUVs in the segment, as well as an enthusiast favorite.

Choosing Your Mazda CX-5

Mazda offers the CX-5 in eight trims: 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 Premium, 2.5 S Premium Plus, 2.5 Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Signature. Pricing ranges from $27,975 to $40,925 (including destination).

Engine Choices

The CX-5 is available with two engines. Both are 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines, but one is turbocharged.

Every model comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) and a six-speed automatic transmission. To get the most out of the turbocharged engines, drivers will have to fill the SUV up with premium fuel. When running on regular gas, the CX-5 makes 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

The turbocharged engine is only found on two trims and the upgrade can cost over $10,000. That’s a lot of money, but the turbocharged CX-5 is one of the most powerful SUVs in the class and has quick acceleration.

Engine Type Horsepower Torque Fuel Economy (Combined)
2.5L 4-Cylinder 187 hp 186 lb-ft 26 mpg
2.5L Turbo 4-Cylinder 256 hp 320 lb-ft 24 mpg

Passenger and Cargo Capacity

The CX-5 is a compact SUV that can seat up to five people, though it has one of the smaller interiors in the segment. Cargo space is slightly below average with the CX-5 offering up to 30.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 59.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded.

Safety Features

The CX-5 comes with a lengthy list of standard safety features. The base trim comes standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

Mazda saves parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, reverse automatic emergency braking, traffic jam assist, a driver attention monitor, and a surround-view parking camera for the Turbo Signature trim.

Connectivity

The standard infotainment system in the CX-5 consists of a 10.25-inch display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, four audio speakers, a 4.6-inch multi-information display, and an HD Radio.

The S Select adds rear USB charging ports and a six-speaker audio system. The 2.5 S Premium trim gains a 10-speaker Bose audio system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and satellite radio. A head-up display becomes standard on the 2.5 S Premium Plus. The Turbo trim gains a wireless charging pad, while navigation is standard on the Turbo Signature.

Standard features on the base trim include LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, remote keyless entry, push-button start, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, manually adjustable interior seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and cloth upholstery.

2023 Mazda CX-5 2.5 S Select – MSRP From $29,775

The 2.5 S Select adds auto-leveling headlights, rear privacy glass, advanced keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, leatherette upholstery, and heated front seats.

2023 Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo Signature – MSRP From $40,925

The range-topping 2.5 Turbo Signature has body-colored wheel arches, Signature badges, a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror, LED vanity mirrors, layered wood trim, a black cloth headliner, and Nappa leather upholstery.

CarsDirect Tip

While choosing between eight different trims may seem daunting, it beats eight trims and optional features. We think the 2023 Mazda CX-5 Turbo is the best option, as it highlights the SUV’s athleticism and opulence. For drivers that aren’t interested in the extra performance, the S Preferred trim has plenty of upscale features while maintaining the CX-5’s sharp handling.

Is the Mazda CX

Other changes for 2022 include small tweaks to the look. A new front fascia includes an updated mesh grille framed with sharper trim (Mazda calls it a “signature wing that extends outward from the front grille”) and narrower headlights with rectangular LEDs. A redesigned liftgate sits above larger tailpipes.

Will CX

Mazda is making some large changes to the CX-9 lineup for the 2023 model year. The midsize SUV will not be available in its entry-level Sport trim for 2023 and has added some new standard features higher up the lineup.

Is there a new Mazda CX

The 2023 Mazda CX-9 is dropping the base Sport trim, making the Touring trim its new entry model. New for the 2023 model year, the Touring trim will offer second-row captain's chairs as standard; they were previously optional.

Will there be a new Mazda CX 7?

According to motortrend.com, it is highly likely that Mazda will pair a Skyactiv-G engine with Toyota's hybrid system. The expected sale date is the end of 2022, while the starting price for this model will be about $ 30.000.
