In my case The " GRBL PANEL" seems to be working till now [apart from a few usual hiccups] . About UGS , I'm still stuck. I'm guessing windows isn't installing the drivers properly. I need to check the driver installation again. Hey there! Have you checked that the baud rate and com port are selected correctly? Might be an easy miss. Making scratches on stuff! Bruce Forum Guru

    ### Post by Bruce on Feb 4, 2020 3:29:57 GMT I found this on the UGS help page. Common Problems "Grbl has not finished booting." This happens when UGS connects to a serial port and does not receive the GRBL startup string. Typically this is caused by a configuration problem and can be solved by one of the following: Check the baud rate is 115200, or 9600 for very old versions of grbl. Make sure you are connecting to the correct port. Make sure you have installed any drivers required for your controller. Make sure GRBL is properly flashed on your controller. As a last resort try removing all previous UGS settings [see property Files] and reinstall. Also check the USB cable. You might just switch it out to see if it helps. Hmm, Possible. Did you plug the power to the motor board first, and then the usb? Idk if that would cause an issue in this instance, but could be. Making scratches on stuff! jenny New Member

    ### Post by jenny on Feb 4, 2020 19:34:12 GMT When we first built the machine we followed step by step instructions and it did fine for a year with the laser we did the same but its a possibility that I did it backwards when hooking it up I think I did something wrong with X loader though I turned it on in xloader instead of UGS.

Hey Jenny. Perhaps you could try to load the firmware again, since you are already familiar with UGS. Here is the firmware [see attached]. Please let us know if that helps. I have seen a board dump the firmware before. Grbl 1p1 for Carve King Homing and No Homing.hex [81.7 KB] MillRight CNC Staff I do not answer private messages. The board may have failed, or there is something on the board [like a stepper driver] that is keeping it from booting. If you can remove the red board and the Uno board boots, there is something like a stepper driver that has failed short. If that doesn't work, then it is the board. Email us the results of that to support@millrightcnc.com and we can look at the best solution. MillRight CNC Staff I do not answer private messages. ### Post by jenny on Feb 8, 2020 15:01:55 GMT Derek, not sure if you got my email or not but I removed the red board and tried booting from the blue uno board and it still says failed to upload so apparently I fried it.

    ### Post by petek on Feb 21, 2020 3:43:47 GMT I also had GRBL has not finished loading error.. [after switching to a more updated UGS]. Super simple fix after fooling around playing baud speeds.. I just chose a different COM port in the UGS pulldown menu. ha! no reloading anything.
