What weekends are Coachella 2023?

Coachella has set dates to return to the Empire Polo Club in 2023.

The country’s premiere music festival, now fully back in action after two years away during the pandemic, will return April 14 through26 and 21 through 23. The pre-sale for tickets goes live Friday, June 17, at 10 a.m. PT.

Frank Ocean, who was set to headline back in 2020, is the only confirmed act for the bill next year. Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Swedish House Mafia with the Weeknd headlined the 2022 festival. The final lineup came after Travis Scott was dropped following the Astroworld tragedy, and Kanye West was quickly added as his replacement and then just as quickly canceled.

Scott will headline promoter Goldenvoice’s Day N Vegas festival this September. Goldenvoice is the promoter of Coachella and its sister country-music festival, Stagecoach.

This year’s Coachella attracted 125,000 fans per day to Indio and drew some consternation from fans and locals after the festival reneged on its COVID-19 mitigation policies.

Frank Ocean will be performing in the desert in 2023.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, is expected to make its comeback  in April 2022 after a two year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the organizers of the festival are already thinking of 2023. In an interview with the LA Times, Coachella co-founder Paul Tollett revealed that Frank Ocean will be headlining the festival in 2023. It’s still super early, and pretty odd to see a festival reveal its headliner a year and a half out, but Tollett said he wanted to give fans “reassurance” that Ocean — who was scheduled to headline in 2020 — will eventually be at the festival.

“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” Tollett said. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”

Ocean was scheduled to perform at Coachella in 2020, alongside fellow headliners Rage Against the Machine and Travis Scott. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Coachella to delay their festival. [In ffact, it was one of the first big festivals to pull the plug when cases were surging.] Ocean could not confirm for April 2022, due to a scheduling conflict, so he will be coming back in 2023. Coachella said they will announce the third headliner soon.

Back in June, Coachella announced that the festival will return to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on the weekends of April 15-17 and April 29-May 1st. The festival will also be streaming on YouTube.

“We’re back and thrilled to be partnering with Goldenvoice for the 10th year to live stream the iconic Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on YouTube,” YouTube said in a statement at the time. “As the world’s biggest virtual stage, we are more excited than ever to celebrate live music and to bring two weekends of extraordinary performances to music fans around the world.”

Mark your calendars.

Coachella 2023 is officially a go. The infamous Indio music festival has confirmed the dates for its 2023 iteration and — no surprise here — it’ll take place yet again during its usual time slot in mid-April.

Though much of the additional details of the festival, including the headliners and lineup, are still under wraps, we do know that Frank Ocean will return to headline the festival in 2023. Ocean was originally scheduled to headline the 2020 iteration of the festival, though we all know how that turned out. He wasn’t available to perform for 2022, but the festival managed to snag a spot in his schedule for next year [if he doesn’t bail first], the Los Angeles Times reported back in 2021.

The music festival returned for its first post-pandemic event back in April 2022 with Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Swedish House Mafia with The Weeknd as its headliners. The two weekends were packed with surprises, reunions, and special guests as Eilish brought on Damon Albarn during her sets, while Styles invited Lizzo and Shania Twain. K-pop groups 2NE1 also shocked audiences with a surprise reunion, and girl group aespa made their stateside festival debut with a performance as part of 88rising’s Head In The Clouds Forever showcase.
