the specs are i5- 8300h gtx 150 ti 2gb 8gb ram

i play alot of fortnite and yesterday i was playing for maybe 3-4 hours and i check my temprature of my cpu and hdo and they were about 90 degrees celsuis. should i be worried? should i buy a new one or get a cooling fan? i have read some post that says that cooling fans are a good investment and other that says theire useless and that a gaming laptop should take 90 degrees on ez but others say that im literally boiling my laptop. what should i do?-

90C is pretty normal for a gaming laptop under load. You can get some high quality cooling paste and use that on the heatsinks, also make sure nothing is blocking vents when you use the laptop and they are clean along with the fan[s]. Trying a cooling pad won't hurt thing, just get it from a palace with a good return policy like Amazon so if it does nothing for you you can return it.

i have a hp pavillion gaming laptop 15-cx0xxx my specs are i5-8300h 2,3ghz 8gb ram gtx 1050 ti 2gb 256gb ssd

i play alot of fortnite and pubg and i realized my laptop was pretty hot after a game or two. i downloaded fanspeed and saw that my gpu was 93C, and 93C looks like something u should be concerned of. i had the laptopp for a month and now im wondering if i should buy a new just becasue of the heating problem. ive been looking at the dell inspiron g5 and thought that was a really good alternative. my laptop is working great at all the other things, its just the overheating problem im dealing with. i need help fast, so if u see this post and knowt he answer please reply to this post. my laptop is 35-40C idle

get used to laptops overheating when hard and long gaming sessions are normal. You would be better served with a properly cooled mid-tower pc for your gaming needs. your new one will get plenty hot as well.

use HWMonitor to see what the temps are, 40C sounds high, use Resource Monitor to see what is running on the CPU and such

after one game of fortnite the gpu reaches 94C. i thinks thats to hot, but this is my first gaming laptop. is there a setting i can change the gpu settings? or should i just buy a new laptop. i have been looking at the dell inspiron g5. is the hotness of the gpu dameging to the laptop? please answer quickly

Laptops are notorious for heat problems. They really aren't designed for gaming....even when you see one advertised that way....because the better the gaming hardware you put in there....the more likely it is you will see heat problems. As far as your situation....you can throttle your video card with Afterburner but that will affect your performance.

If I was going to go with a different system....I would go with a DESKTOP with a large case. This way....you probably won't have heat problems and if you do you can control it MUCH easier.

i have been using the laptop for a mont now and the air vents are not blocked, is this normal that the gpu reaches this temp

it shouldnt get this hot i think u may need to redo the thermal paste

it shouldnt get this hot i think u may need to redo the thermal paste

i have the laptop on warenty, do i have to open it up?

it shouldnt get this hot i think u may need to redo the thermal paste

i have the laptop on warenty, do i have to open it up?

if the laptop is on warranty, the best thing to do is to contact the manufacturers tech support or RMA it to them as opening the laptop to redo the thermal paste will void the warranty.

am i dameging my gpu and cpu if its 93C and play for an hour or two`?

You may be shortening their lifespan. 93 C is pretty hot, especially if you're running it at that temp for hours at a time.

you can expect it to not live as long as it would under normal conditions. isn't 100C the max it's supposed to endure before shutdown?

this is not the 8700K running w/ an old i5's cooler is it?
Don't!

may? so how long am i shortening the life of thecpu and gpu. do u sugest that i should return it?

Impossible to say how much you could be reducing the lifespan.

Return what? Is this something you built yourself, a pre-built desktop, a laptop? How long have you had it, and has it always run this hot? What CPU/GPU? What CPU cooler? What is ambient temperature in the room?

How far above 95° C does it gets? That's pretty much normal for laptops when the system is stressed. Most laptops will reach those temperatures when gaming.

You could lower the temps a little bit by getting a cooling pad.

it does rarely go over 95C, but it stays around 90-95C

it does rarely go over 95C, but it stays around 90-95C

I wish I could give you better news, but that's how laptops are when play games. It is hard to cool and dissipate heat on a small enclosure. Your CPU and GPU will throttle, if they're close to unsafe temps, to cool themselves down.

You could try increasing fan speed while gaming or use a Laptop Fan Cooler or as a previously mention... a cooling pad

[/quotemsg] Unfortunately, your laptop model does not have any fan controls.

You might need to consider the other options.

my gpu goes up to a 95C, but it runs perfectly. should i be worried, am i dameging it?

Those temps are a bit high but it will still probably work fine. I suggest running your GPU fans 100% if the noise won't bother you.

...Uhm, didn't know it was a lappy should've specified. In that case you would need one of these laptop cooling pads/fans:

you won't improve on that much in a laptop

is 95C on the gpu and the cores normal while gaming and if so am i dameging it?

According to what proc and what it's heat parameters are. That's pretty warm. Unless you have it disabled there should be thermal protection and throttling in place to keep it from overheating.

is 95C on the gpu and the cores normal while gaming and if so am i dameging it?

Not normal. You have to improve cooling.

What GPU? Provide your specs when asking something like this.

95c is quite warm for pretty much any GPU I am aware of. Most modern nvidia GPU's will start throttling around 85c.

You will need to add fans. The electronics has over-temperature protections, but those are for emergencies only. I suggest take off the sides of your case, and set up a large pedestal fan to blow air inside !!

Yeah something is wrong with your PC if those are really the temperatures for those components.

I have kootek cooling from here : https

/www.laptopmag.com/articles/best-laptop-coolers It only ships from usa. Reduced around -5 to -10celsius on cpu and gpu. Best thing is to change thermal paste [liquid metal is best but not always necressary] and check that fan is working well and there is no dirt around. This voids warranty ofcourse.

You can also dissipate the heat from the motherboard graphics card / processor and other heatspots into back or front case with thermal pads like in this video : https

/www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtLJGeNlzYQ [around 30mins you see what im talking about]

Ive had -10 celsius on macbooks with this method but its abit harder to do on HP laptop because you need to test more and disassemblying takes time.
