this is crap. save you money and buy pro tools. its way more user friendly and way better interface. this will only disappoint. 80 bucks down the craper.

This software does not play music sent with MIDI capable hardware. It seems to ignore exhaustive MIDI setup efforts, in that the resultant sound is but a generic keyboard voice audible only if the send parameters include all 16 MIDI channels. Therefore, the only way to record the full capabilities of a hardware synth for example, is exactly like a guitar, recording analog audio tracks.

Mixcraft is my favorite go to for composing music. Version 9 is seemless and so easy to use.

Have tried other DAWs [music creation programs] for Windows, Mixcraft is by far my favorite. I found it to be the easiest to use, and the layout was fairly intuitive. I still did watch some tutorials on YouTube, but I was able to feel like I was getting somewhere as opposed to just running into roadblocks. My digital piano/USB MIDI keyboard worked immediately, and a bunch of instrument sounds and effect plugins came pre-installed in Mixcraft 9. Also it recognized my sustain pedal, which was very helpful.
Highly highly highly recommend checking out the free trial on their website.
Have had it about two months- still using Windows 7 [look, I know], but no crashes etc so far. Main issue I ran into was tweaking for delay on my MIDI keyboard, but that was a pretty easy fix.

Awesome user friendly software, works flawlessly with Windows 10 with my G Track Pro, no latency issues at all and great plug ins. There's also great course videos on YouTube on how to mix and master vocals using this software, would highly recommend if you're going to be using this software for the first time.

I had the opportunity to record a track for a local documentary. From start to finish, MixCraft was easy to figure out for this first timer. Used a MIDI keyboard and instrument options of a piano sound, tenor sax, bass, and drum set, and produced a quality product that the producer just loved. I am getting ready to purchase my own version of this now. I tried other DAWs, but did not like as well at MixCraft.
