Khi install IPS 4 thì nó để Collation là utf8mb4_unicode_ci. Có nên đổi thành utf8_general_ci không nhỉ?

IPS hỗ trợ tốt utf8mb4 và utf8. Theo ông Mark nói thì utf8mb4 tốt hơn utf8.

Fresh install là như vậy nhưng đối với upgrade từ IP.Board 3.x lên thì nó có tự động convert Database không Bim?

Bim thì up lên vẫn để [sợ lỗi font khi convert]. Nếu bạn rãnh thì convert xem sao. Utf8mb4 thì hỗ trơ emoji nữa đó.

VN thì chỉ cần utf8 là đủ rồi, bon chen làm gì mã 4byte

Thôi tốt nhất chơi utf8_general_ci, mấy anh mới này chiếm nhiều space, hơn nữa người ta đánh giá mấy cái utf8mb4 không tốt lắm:
