Can you charge a gaming laptop with USB-C?

I recently ordered a Asus gl502vm laptop. It has a USB C port and from what I've read and can understand as of now, it's just a god compared to micro USB. So anyways the laptop has a USB C port and I know you can charge with the port. Like for example your note 7 which has the usb C charging port. But I found interesting the new MacBook or whatever those apple "laptops" are called, use usb C as they're primary and only way of changing. So my question is could my laptop which is equipped with a 1060 and 6700hq be charged the same like this MacBook. Is this little port really that magical. If possible, I'd really like to be able to charge it using a anker usb 3.0 to usb C cable and my NewTrent 12,000 mAh backup charger. Since this laptop is most likely a juice hog, would be nice to have that little extra boost if I really needed it. I've also heard that it might be a better idea to get a backup charger equipped with a usb C port already. But if I can use my existing backup charger, that's 40 bucks I won't have to spend. Thanks for the responses.

This is the backup charger if you want to know (didn't pay that much for it, paid about 40 bucks 4 years ago and still running strong):

And the cable I wanted to use:
